We had to design a house. These next 3 rendering are the living room, kitchen, and bedroom of the house I designed.

So for this past semester I have been working on projects for my design portfolio. The portfolio is an important part of design because it will be submitted to a review committee and they deside my future basically. There are 2 design "tracks" I can take. There is the studio track: 18 out of 60 people get in. It is a lot of designing and very prestigious. So it's fun, but the downside is, it is a lot of hours. projects take a ton of time and basically I would be spending about 70 hours a week doing studio. The second track is sales and marketing. You will learn the business side of design and learn to market your designs.The rest of the people get into that, unless they're just not good enough and then they will be asked to change majors. 5 people were asked to leave this year, I feel so bad for them. I wanted to do sales and marketing because I would be able to spend more time with my family and I would graduate a year earlier. I would also be garunteed a good job since most people aren't hiring interior designers right now. So, I was shocked when I made studio! I felt so flattered that they thought I was good enough to do it. It has been such a tough decision. I love the work that I would get to do in studio but it would take a huge toll on me. Anyway, I decided to do sales and marketing so I can graduate early and get the business side. I also know I will get a good job. I feel really good about my decision! Yesterday we went to Idaho to see Chris's cousin before he left on his mission. His aunt is a photographer and we were able to get all the pictures she's taken over the years on CD's. Here's some of our favorites! (They are all raw photos which means they haven't been edited yet). Enjoy!

Happy Belated Anniversary (Ode to us)

March 9 was our 2 year anniversary! I guess I was too busy that day and forgot to post on our actually anniversary so I'm doing it late. Also, yesterday (March 11) was our sealing year anniversary. I can't believe how fast the time has gone and how many things we have done. Chris has been such a good/fun/entertaining/funny/goofy/sweet husband! I love you babe! Well, we started off our marriage by driving to Pittsburgh for the summer to sell Dish Network. That started off with a bang... we rolled our car on the freeway going 75 mph. The car was totalled but everything in the inside of the car, including us, were in perfect condition. I know we were being watched over that day, and am so thankful we were not hurt. The summer in Pittsburgh was pretty fun but I worked 2 jobs. One at Bath and Body Works and the other at Pier1. There wasn't much time for fun. I went into pre-term labor in July and thankfully the doctors stopped the labor. I prayed baby would come on his due date and he did! On Oct. 1, we were surprised with a little boy. 6 lbs, 6 oz, 19 in long and the most beautiful baby with black curly hair! He was such a good baby too. He only cried when he was hungry and he slept all the time. He did have to spend a week in the NICU though because of an infection, and for all those parents whose babies are in the NICU for weeks, I am so sorry because it is so hard! About 3 days after I had him, I had some chest pain and a lot of swelling. Seriously, I was 15 lbs heavier AFTER I had Braxon then when I was pregnant with him. My body was retaining so much fluid that I was just a big balloon. Anyway, I had an echocardiogram and they found that I had a silver dollar sized hole in my heart and my heart wasn't able to pump all the blood and fluid that was in my body. To make a long story short, I went in to have an operation to close the hole about 2 months after Braxon was born. Fast forward 3 months: Chris, Braxon and I were sealed in the SL temple. I already blogged about that experience but to recap, it was incredible! That summer we made the best switch and went with APX to sell alarms for the summer. We were in VA, about 45 min from DC. It was so much fun hanging out with all the other wives there. We did fun activities all the time and all of them were so sweet. It turned out to be a good summer with sales for Chris as well. At the end of the summer we were able to both go to school, and Chris didn't have to work so we could take turns going to school and being home with Braxon. Braxon turned one this past Oct and he is so much fun! He now knows a lot of sign language (enough to communicate with us) and he knows what different objects are, although he can't say many words. Now, we are trying to finish this last leg of the spring semester and then it's back to DC! We are so excited and hope this summer will be just as good/fun, if not better than last summer!

Bahamas!

About 5 days after we got home from Cancun we went on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. Chris's grandma took all her grandkids so it was fun being with all of them. If any of you want a fun cruise that you can take your kids on, this is the one to do! It is so kid friendly and they have acitvities for all ages. They also have day cares and kids clubs for the younger kids. We went to Castaway Cay which is Disney's private island so that was way cool to have an island all to ourselves. We went snorkeling and biking there and got a massages on the beach in my own private cabana. Awww so nice! The next island we went to was Nassau which is the capitol of the Bahamas. We went on a catamaran/snorkeling tour there. Another great part about cruises is the food, it's so good! We also went to a show every night and they were all amazing! Toy story the musical was really cool, the costumes were amazing! Then they had 2 other musical type shows the incorporated all the disney movies. Chris and I went to the adults club at night for some karaoke, Disco dancing, and games. It was a fun trip and now I have spring/summer fever like you wouldn't believe!

Cancun

So I know it's been about a month and a half since we went on these trips but I have nothing else to write about at the moment (except for Braxon went to nursery for the first time today yay!!!) But anyway, first we went to Cancun with APX. It was so fun being with all our friends! We went snorkeling, cliff jumping, and biking. We played games and ate a lot of food, we went to the beach and rented boogie boards, and a nice Mexican even painted a pot for us! We rented motor scooters and drove all over Cancun, then went to the "flea market" i guess is what it's called, and Chris used his Spanish to make some great bargains. The seniors loved him. It was a short trip but a great break from the snow!

Interior Design Lego Project

For those of you who don't know, I am majoring in Interior Design at Utah State. We have a lot of projects this semester and I just finished my first one. We had to find a house or a building that we liked and turn it into a Lego toy using a computer program called CAD. We build all the Lego pieces in this program and then make instructions just like a real Lego toy. We also had to make the architect of our building into a Lego person. So here is the final project. So relieved it's finished!
